Photographic Competition

The Chorltonville website has a few, mostly out-of-date, archived images, so we thought it needed a refresh and sprucing up with more up-to-date photographs. We are therefore launching a photographic competition which we hope will generate more relevant images for the website.

The Chorltonville Photographic Competition is open to all residents of the ‘Ville.

We have split the competition into four seasonal categories: Winter,  Spring, Summer and Autumn. There are two age categories for entries, 18 years and over and under 18s.  

Photographs should have a distinct Chorltonville connection providing web visitors with an idea of the visual aspects of the area.  (So photographs of your holiday in the Maldives will be disqualified! Sorry.)

Images can be uploaded to any of the four categories at any time, but as some seasons may not have been reached yet, we are leaving the competition open until the end of the year.

Closing date for all entries is December 20th 2025.

We intend to publish some of the images online as the competition progresses.

To enable you to upload your images, you will also need your 6 digit pin which can be found in the email sent out in the last newsletter announcement.If you no longer have the pin, please contact photocomp@chorltonville.org for a replacement. Please state your name and address when doing so.

Please indicate the category and age group you are entering.

• Initial submissions should be in a common image format.
• Note: we accept images such as TIFF and HEIC but these will not give you an immediate visual confirmation as they are not web browser compatible. We can process these for you. Standard web format images will give you a visual confirmation of upload.
• Images such also be less than 40MB and preferably around 2-5MB.
• Images embedded in Word or other applications will not upload.
